Mozart By Candlelight Thanksgiving Concert in Broadway

Under the musical direction of conductor Christopher Story VI, the West Coast Chamber Orchestra will perform its annual Mozart by Candlelight Thanksgiving Concert on Friday, November 26 at 8 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1500 State St. The all-Mozart program features three of the 18th-century composer's most popular masterworks including his Idemeneo Overture and Symphony No. 35 in D Major (Haffner), and featured guest artist, pianist William Koseluk, will perform as soloist with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20. Presented by the Cielo Foundation, the concert is a local annual tradition that kicks off the holiday season.

SHEN WEI DANCE ARTS

Hailed as "startlingly imaginative" by The New York Times, Shen Wei Dance Arts is devoted to the creation of innovative dance forms for the 21st century. A seamless fusion of Chinese opera, painting, dance and music with Western performance arts, Shen Wei's works are "visual feasts" (The New York Sun) that transfix audiences. The program will feature the restaging of two of Shen Wei's most celebrated works. Rite of Spring is set to Stravinsky's music and coincides with the 100th anniversary of the original landmark piece. Folding is a highly stylized movement exploration played out over the ethereal melodies of Tavener and Tibetan Buddhist chants.

Nick is a single Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents moved to Florida, his sister to California. But he still has family nearby - he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is a routine, until the day comes when he has to tell them that he's been offered a dream job which requires his moving to Seattle, Washington, taking him away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. Thus begins the scheming to keep Nick around, including bringing to dinner the lovely, and single, Caitlin O'Hare as bait. "Tengo famiglia!"
